On Monday, Moldovan police removed from the roadway the tents of demonstrators who had blocked traffic on Chisinau’s main boulevard the day before, demanding compensation for rising gas prices.
It is noted that special police units surrounded the tent city, demanding that the people there obey the requirements of law enforcement officers. Demonstrators chanted various slogans as they left the tents. Subsequently, the police removed the tents, and the people were pushed to the side of the road.
After the restoration of traffic along Stefan the Great Boulevard, special police units left the center of the capital of Moldova. At the same time, the tent cities near the presidential administration and the parliament remained in their places, but the demonstrators no longer attempt to block the road.
