Moldova does not supply military equipment to Ukraine, declared Minister of Defense of the Republic Anatoly Nosatii in an interview with TVR Moldova.
“Moldova did not supply military equipment, spare parts for it or other military assistance to Ukraine. We sent only humanitarian aid there,” the minister said. He noted that the republic does not do this because of its status of neutrality.
Nosatii emphasized that the National Army of Moldova itself needs to be modernized and added that for the first time since the country’s independence, the military budget has been increased. The minister also said that Moldova plans to acquire a radar station within a few months to ensure its security.
“In the near future we will sign an agreement with partners, we are negotiating the acquisition of a radar for the National Army. The money has already been allocated from the budget. I think there will be a delivery within a few months, but here we must keep in mind the training of personnel, deployment and commissioning, ”Nosatiy said.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the supply of long-range weapons would only expand the geography of the special operation.
