Mobilized Tuvans who complained about bullying in the special operation zone will be transferred to the 55th motorized rifle brigade

The Ministry of Defense of Russia reacted positively to the proposal to transfer the inhabitants of the Republic of Tyva mobilized for participation in a special military operation to the 55th separate motorized rifle brigade (mountainous). He announced this in his Telegram channel head of the region Vladislav Khovalyg.

“According to the existing requirements, the transition to the location of another military unit is not a quick matter, but I hope for a prompt decision,” he said.

In early February, a group of servicemen from Tuva recorded a video message in which they reported difficulties in treating the wounded due to status problems. “When we brought our wounded brother-soldiers to the hospital, they didn’t even accept us, they refuse, we don’t belong to any military unit,” the video message said. Its authors also pointed to bullying “by people who called themselves military DPR (people’s militia)”. Mr. Khovalyg and Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from United Russia Sholban Kara-ool, who previously headed the region, promised deal with the issue.

The 55th brigade was formed in 2015 and is deployed on the territory of Tuva. In its location, mobilized from the republic were trained. “The bulk of those called up from Tuva, as part of partial mobilization, are serving in the 55th brigade. Since the end of October, they have been successfully fulfilling the tasks of a special military operation,” Mr. Khovalyg said.
