The Duma faction “New People” has written a bill amending the law on education, which proposes to provide children mobilized, studying in universities full-time or part-time, the right to free education. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the text of the bill.
The draft law states that state-funded places should be automatically provided to children and foster children of the mobilized, who previously studied on a paid basis.
According to the authors of the amendments, under conditions of partial mobilization, parents called up for service are deprived of “the opportunity to receive their usual income,” RIA points out. And the proposed measure “will increase the confidence of those liable for military service” in the readiness of the state to provide social support to their families, the lawmakers believe.
