MLS: frustrating doubles for Insigne and Chicharito
[ad_1]
Leonardo Insigne and Javier Hernandez, aka Chicharito, have both scored twice in Major League Soccer, but they’re bound to have a sour taste in their mouths. If the Italian allowed Toronto to lead 2-0 from the 7th minute of play (after an opener from the penalty spot by his compatriot Bernardeschi), his reduction in the score in added time (90th + 3) will have been in vain: his team finally lost 4-3 against Montreal.
Benteke and Vela also miss a penalty
Chicharito found the fault with a powerful shot in the 4th minute for the Los Angeles Galaxy against Kansas City, equalized from the penalty spot by sending his shot into the top corner (2-2, 88th), before missing in the additional time the victory penalty on a completely missed panenka (90th + 7).
This day will also have been that of missed penalties: Benteke missed his with DC United (0-0 against Colorado), the same for Lodeiro with Seattle (2-1 against Houston), and for Carlos Vela with Los Angeles FC against Real Salt Lake (2-0). In the standings, Los Angeles is still a solid leader in the West, when Philadelphia leads the way in the East.
