Named a list of bloggers whom the Safe Internet League proposed to prosecute for posting illegal online casino advertising. The list was made public on February 17 at a round table with the participation of representatives of the FAS, Roskomnadzor, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the discussion, the director of the Safe Internet League, Yekaterina Mizulina, proposed to prosecute bloggers who place illegal advertisements.
“The League for Safe Internet today submits a list of the largest bloggers to the FAS and Roskomnadzor. We hope that they will be held accountable,” Mizulina said. The list of violators includes 15 bloggers: Egor Creed, Yuri Khovansky, Vyacheslav Leontiev, Huseyn Hasanov, Nekoglai, Alexander Paradeev, Natalya Berdnikova, Ivan Shurpatov, Alexey Derevyashkin, Konstantin Smolyar, Artur Nerchuk, Roman Mokrivsky, Alexander Zubarev, Ilya Davydov and Andrey Burim .
“We believe that it is necessary to make changes at the legislative level, because at the moment, the law provides for very low penalties for advertising online casinos. The law should provide for a significant fine, but in case of repeated violation, the liability should be significant – up to criminal liability,” Mizulina said.
As the roundtable participants said, many bloggers create separate telegram channels for casino advertising, where they send their audience so as not to get banned on the main social network. Each of them has their own link, through which they receive 50% of the lost money of their audience.
Mizulina noted that the total audience of bloggers advertising online casinos is more than 50 million people. View and subscriber numbers can be compared to some TV channels. “Only the activities of television channels are strictly regulated and controlled. Bloggers with a large audience should also be held accountable by law. It is important to understand that the majority of their audience is children and teenagers.”
