Mishustin: Western countries feel the impact of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

The collective West is stepping up pressure on Russia and Belarus, while feeling the return of its own sanctions. This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
“The situation is rapidly changing, the collective West is increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus, despite the fact that its initiators themselves have felt the negative impact of such a policy,” the head of government said.
According to him, as a result of sanctions, the international economic and trading system is being shaken. Mr. Mishustin believes that under these conditions, the Eurasian Economic Union has proved its effectiveness.
The European Union has already introduced seven packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation in response to the military operation in Ukraine. The seventh package, adopted on July 20, included a number of Russian officials, actors and leading organizations. The United States last expanded the sanctions lists on August 2, when they added 13 more individuals and more than 30 legal entities.
Western countries began to impose new sanctions against Belarus from 2020. At first, this was explained by the results of the presidential elections, with which the opposition did not agree, then by the migration crisis. Now Minsk is accused of facilitating the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine.
