Mishustin simplified the procedure for medical examination of volunteers – Kommersant

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on simplifying the medical examination procedure for those wishing to voluntarily serve under a contract. In particular, the period for selecting volunteers by the military medical commission will be reduced, says the document, which cites Interfax.

Those wishing to enroll in military service under a contract will be able to undergo a one-stage medical examination instead of a two-stage one (examination by the military medical commission of the municipality, and then at the regional level), follows from the resolution.

Volunteers will be able to immediately undergo examination at government medical institutions. Officers will need a referral from military registration and enlistment offices at the municipal level, and soldiers, sergeants, and warrant officers will need a referral from the head of the selection point for military service under contract. The results of the examinations will be studied by commissions at the municipal level; a decision on suitability for military service under a contract must be made within five days.
