Mishustin: Russian universities accepted 2.5 thousand students expelled from foreign universities

In 2022, Russian universities accepted 2.5 thousand students in a simplified manner who were expelled from universities of “unfriendly states”. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a speech in the State Duma with a report on the work of the government over the past year.

Mr. Mishustin also said that within the framework of the decade of science and technology, which announced President Vladimir Putin for 2022-2031, the government has updated the list of areas of training in secondary vocational education. As part of the “Professionality” program, 71 educational and industrial clusters were opened, in which more than 150 thousand students are currently studying.

On the basis of 30 universities, the creation of “Advanced Engineering Schools” began so that students, graduate students and schoolchildren could participate in solving problems at enterprises. On September 1, 2022, more than 2 thousand teenagers started classes, the Prime Minister drew attention.

In addition, the government will continue to develop the Priority 2030 academic leadership program. More than 120 higher educational institutions took part in it, according to Mikhail Mishustin. About 30 billion rubles were provided for the creation of technoparks and business incubators at these universities in 2022.
