Mishustin laid flowers at the memorial of the fallen Lokomotiv hockey players

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin honored the memory of the Lokomotiv hockey players who died in a plane crash in 2011 upon arrival in Yaroslavl.
The Russian prime minister laid flowers at the memorial at the crash site on the banks of the Tunoshonka River near Yaroslavl.
On September 7, 2011, the hockey team of the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv took off on a charter flight on the Yak-42 liner to Minsk. The capital of Belarus was supposed to host the first match of the new KHL season against the local Dynamo. The liner, not having time to gain altitude, collided with a radio beacon, then crashed into the ground and collapsed.
There were 45 people on board the plane at the time of the crash, 43 of them died on the spot. Forward Alexander Galimov died five days later from his injuries.
The only survivor was a crew member, an engineer for aviation and electronic equipment Alexander Sizov.
