Mishustin dismissed the arrested Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Parshin – Kommersant

Maxim Parshin, who is under house arrest on suspicion of taking a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), was relieved of his post as deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Development at his request. Disposition signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Maxim Parshin was placed under house arrest on July 13 for two months. State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein reported that the deputy minister was detained in one of the restaurants while receiving a bribe of 3.5 million rubles. Illegal remuneration, according to the deputy, was intended for assistance in allocating grants. Sources of Vedomosti reportedthat the duties of Maxim Parshin are performed by another deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Development – Andrey Zarenin.

Deputy Minister Parshin oversaw the work of the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT), which is responsible for selecting “priority projects in the field of import substitution of system-wide and industrial software” and allocating funds for state support to the authors of these projects.

According to the investigation, a bribe of 3.5 million rubles. Maxim Parshin was handed over by the general director of BFT-Holding LLC Alexander Monosov. His firm created and modernized the so-called unified digital platforms of the social sphere “Social Treasury”, “Work in Russia” of the Labor and Employment Service, the National Data Management System and the Social Insurance Fund.
