Mishustin called the federal budget the main tool for implementing government plans

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during a report on the work of the government in the State Duma, said that the main tool for implementing the plans of the country’s authorities is the federal budget.

“The key outcome of last year was the preservation of macroeconomic stability. The federal budget remains the main instrument for the implementation of all our plans. We have also adjusted our policy in this area,” Mishustin said.

According to the Prime Minister, the main task of the Cabinet in 2022 was to reduce the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy and the lives of citizens. For the sake of this, officials worked to improve financial stability and stability in the country.

“Additional funds were directed to anti-crisis programs. Their goal was to provide affordable resources, facilitate the provision of imported equipment and components, support basic industries and the most vulnerable categories of citizens,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized. In addition, most of the budget funds were directed to social spending.

Former State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin informedthat more than a third of budget expenditures in 2023 will be directed to the social security of citizens. The gap between budget revenues and spending next year will lead to a deficit of 2.9 trillion rubles. (about 2% of GDP).
