Mishustin called for increasing the financial literacy of Russians for the development of Russia

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking at the plenary session of Finance Day at the Russia exhibition, said that the Russian economy has entered a trajectory of sustainable growth. However, for the further development of the country it is necessary to increase the financial literacy of Russians.

“Positive changes are visible in every industry. We managed to neutralize external risks and put the economy on a trajectory of sustainable growth,” said Mr. Mishustin at the plenary session of Finance Day, which opens the industry marathon at the Russia exhibition at VDNKh. The Prime Minister noted that, according to preliminary estimates from the Ministry of Economy, in January-November 2023, Russia’s GDP increased by 3.3%, and the manufacturing industry – by 7.5%.

According to Mikhail Mishustin, one of the essential conditions for Russia’s development in the future is increasing financial literacy and developing the financial culture of Russians. He pointed out that a profession provides a person with the opportunity to earn money, but it is equally important to know how to properly manage savings.

“You need to navigate modern tools that one way or another allow you to preserve and increase personal and family capital and, of course, protect it, since today the dynamically developing sphere of high technology involves, among other things, the presence of cybercrime and not very high-quality products,” he explained.

On January 11, President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Russian entrepreneurs in Khabarovsk admittedthat Russia’s GDP growth at the end of the year will be more than 4%. According to him, Russia has already managed to become the first economy in Europe, despite the fact that it is “pressured and strangled from all sides.”
