Mishustin awarded military correspondents with government awards

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at Government House awarded military correspondents and journalists with government media awards for 2022. The awards were received by VGTRK correspondents Yevgeny Poddubny and Andrey Rudenko, the author of the WarGonzo Telegram channel Semyon Pegov, and RT military commander Andrey Filatov. The amount of the award is 1 million rubles.
- Andrei Rudenko and Semyon Pegov were awarded prizes “for professionalism and courage shown in covering a special military operation”;
- Andrey Filatov – “for covering the events of the special military operation on the Military Chronicle Telegram channel” (spelling preserved);
- Andrey Poddubny – “for providing information coverage of hostilities and measures to restore peaceful life during a special military operation.”
The awards were also received by: Editor-in-Chief of Regnum Marina Akhmedova, host of the Vesti program Nikolay Dolgachev, journalist Andrey Rogatkin, author of the program of the same name on the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, correspondent of Channel One Dmitry Kulko, NTV correspondent Anatoly Mayrov, General Director of the St. Petersburg TV channel Alexander Malkevich , journalists of Komsomolskaya Pravda and TV presenter Andrei Malakhov.
In October, the Ministry of Digital promised provide legal and informational support to war correspondents who cover the events of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. In November, Vladimir Putin turned on to the Human Rights Council under the President of Komsomolskaya Pravda war correspondent Alexander Kots. Commenting on this decision, Dmitry Peskov declaredthat against the backdrop of a military operation in Russia, “the phenomenon of military correspondents has developed.”
