Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced GDP growth of 3.6% in 2023 – twice the average for advanced economies.

According to him, Russia was able to resist pressure from the West and successfully go through a difficult period of initial adaptation. At the end of 2023, GDP grew by 3.6%. The result is twice as high as the average for developed countries, Mishustin said during his speech in the State Duma with the government’s report on the results of activities for 2023.

He noted that such indicators became possible thanks to the sanctions that hit the economy of their initiators. The Russian market, which was abandoned by Western companies, has been replenished with friendly states and domestic corporations.

Mishustin recalled that the number of all restrictive measures against Russia exceeds all sanctions against other countries combined.
