Miroslav Romashchenko left the post of head coach of the Akhmat football club from Grozny. This was reported by the club’s official press center.

On Thursday, Akhmat completed its performance in the Russian Cup, losing in the quarterfinals of the “path of the regions” to the Orenburg team with a score of 0:1.

“After the match, we had a discussion with the players in the dressing room, then spoke with the club management. I asked for my resignation, and the club president accepted this decision. I am confident that this is the right step, given the remaining nine matches until the end of the season. I hope that this will give the team has a new impulse and emotions that will help solve problems in this difficult season,” Romashchenko shared.

Miroslav Romashchenko is 50 years old; he took charge of Akhmat in August last year, replacing Sergei Tashuev. Previously, he worked with such clubs as Tom, Salyut, Amkar, Dynamo, as well as the Russian national team.

Currently, Akhmat is in 12th place in the Russian Premier League table, with 20 points after 21 matches. In the next championship match, the team from Grozny will play against Lokomotiv Moscow on April 7.
