The leader of the party “A Just Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov proposed to the country’s President Vladimir Putin to develop a unified textbook on the history of the Great Patriotic War, which will be sent to all schools in the CIS countries. RIA Novosti reports this.
According to Mironov, such a textbook could be called “Victory in the Great Patriotic War: One for All,” work on it could become an interstate project uniting the countries of the former USSR in the effort to preserve and transmit historical heritage to future generations.
The parliamentarian also emphasized that an active information war is currently being waged in the post-Soviet space, where one of the techniques is the creation of a “fake” historical memory of the Great Patriotic War. In this context, the creation of a textbook becomes a powerful tool to counter manipulation and falsification in the historical narrative.
