78-year-old Romanian specialist Mircea Lucescu announced that he is leaving the post of head coach of the Dynamo-Kyiv football club. The statement was made at a press conference after a minimal defeat from Shakhtar Donetsk, which he also headed from 2004 to 2016.
“I want to say that I devoted 15 years to Ukrainian football. “I decided to end my career with this,” the coach said, adding that he had already said goodbye to the Dynamo and Shakhtar players.
Lucescu sadly added that everything comes to an end – “both his football career, and love, and life.”
Let us remember that after his career at Shakhtar, Mircea Lucescu coached Zenit St. Petersburg for a year and then headed the Turkish national team. He came to Dynamo-Kyiv in 2020.
