Mintsifra will approve the rules for the use of anti-drone systems in September

The Ministry of Digital Transformation will approve the rules for the use of anti-drone systems in September 2023 – they will be available only to security organizations. This was announced by Artem Sheikin, Deputy Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council.

“Recently, even individuals have begun to actively use systems to counter drones, most often these are the so-called “jammers”. The uncontrolled operation of such equipment leads to interference in navigation,” Sheikin said, explaining the problems in the operation of GPS navigation in Moscow.

He also noted that GPS failures were “one of the possible reasons” for the rise in prices for taxi services in the capital. To normalize the situation, the ministry has created a working group to develop rules for the use of anti-drone systems, which will be approved in the fall.

“After that, individuals will not be able to use UAV protection systems, it will be available only to security organizations, the list of which is listed in the anti-terrorist security passport,” the deputy chairman noted.

Newspaper “Kommersant” earlier wrotethat, in particular, problems with GPS led to an increase in the average check for taxi rides in Moscow. Since the beginning of the year, the cost of services in Russia has increased by 4-11%, while in the capital – by 12-15%. In addition, among the reasons, the interviewed experts noted an increase in the cost of cars, as well as a shortage of drivers.

At the same time, a partial outflow of drivers occurs precisely because of the rise in the cost of the cars themselves and the increase in the cost of their maintenance, Irina Zaripova, chairman of the public council for the development of taxis, told the newspaper.

About GPS and GLONASS malfunctions reported back in May. Then the location of users of a number of services was determined incorrectly, and mapping services could not cope with building routes.
