Mintsifra: IT-specialists will be able to apply for a deferment from conscription from January 23 through the “Gosuslugi”

From January 23 to February 6, 2023, IT specialists will be able to independently fill out an application for a deferment from the spring conscription through the State Services service. Mintsifry will also retain the possibility of submitting deferment lists from organizations.
In order to qualify for a deferment, professionals must meet the following: criteria:
- Russian citizenship;
- age: from 18 to 27 years;
- the existence of an employment contract;
- “normal” working hours
- higher education specialty from the government list;
- work experience of at least 11 months from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 in accredited IT companies (accredited before February 9).
Companies will have to send lists of employees to the Ministry of Digital Transformation through the State Services before February 9. Applications of employees, which they filled out on their own, will appear in the personal account of organizations.
After the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine and the announcement of partial mobilization, Russia lost its attractiveness as a place to host IT companies, which is why many specialists left the country. For their return, the Russian authorities regularly announce privileges.
