Mobile operators MirTelecom and +7Telecom operating in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions may enter the market of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Dmitry Kim said, write “RIA News”.

“We have already decided that there will be three lots of frequencies, that is, the resource is limited. There will be three participants. Now “Phoenix” works in the DPR. We believe that MirTelecom and +7Telecom, which operate in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, will be able to provide communication services in the DPR. Actually, we are waiting for more proposals from the participants, they are preliminarily received, but we will consider them directly at the commission,” Kim said.

2 days ago Kim informedthat mobile communications from Russian operators operate in the territories of four new regions of Russia. In particular, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development noted, since December 13, 2022, the network of the Donetsk operator Phoenix has been operating MTS. Kim stressed that the department continues to monitor the quality of communication services in four new regions of the Russian Federation.

During a special operation in Ukraine, the Russian military took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. At the end of September, five-day referendums were held in these territories on the issue of joining subjects to Russia. Residents supported the entry of regions into the Russian Federation by a majority of votes.

On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the regions joining Russia. On October 4, the Federation Council, following the State Duma, ratified all the treaties, and the next day the head of state signed federal laws on the admission of four new subjects to the Russian Federation.
