The representatives of Poland and Lithuania were sent an offer to send observers to the exercises “Combat Brotherhood” in Belarus, but the answer has not yet been received. More on this on Tuesday. August 29, said the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich.
The politician stressed that Minsk is acting in accordance with international requirements, having invited international observers, military attachés, and the diplomatic corps of neighboring countries.
However, Volfovich said he did not know whether Poland and Lithuania would agree to send their representatives, BelTA informs.
The invitation was sent against the backdrop of aggravated relations between Belarus on the one hand and Poland and the Baltic countries on the other hand. Members of the governments of Poland and the Baltic states discussed the possibility of closing the borders with Belarus, although decided not to make tough decisions yet.
At the same time, Warsaw demanded from Minsk to expel the fighters of the private military company “Wagner” from the Belarusian territory. A member of the State Duma Defense Committee, retired Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev, recalled that Belarus is part of the Union State with Russia, and warned that Moscow would respond with all its might, if the pressure on Minsk continues.
