The head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, spoke out against the cancellation of the New Year holidays against the backdrop of partial mobilization in the Russian Federation. The head of the republic said this at a meeting with members of the Cabinet of Ministers of the region.
“The New Year holiday is first of all a holiday for our children, why should we deprive them of their joy? We support a special military operation, we are making great efforts, but life goes on,” the President of Tatarstan said.
According to him, at the moment it is necessary to carry out events aimed at uniting people and creating a sense of unity among them. Mr. Minnikhanov also suggested inviting participants of the special military operation in Ukraine to such events in order to develop a sense of patriotism in children.
Earlier, in a number of regions of Russia, in particular in Chuvashia, the heads decided to cancel the New Year holidays against the backdrop of partial mobilization, and they offered to spend the money saved on supporting the mobilized.
