Republican table tennis competitions are taking place in the regional center of Bogatye Saby. Rais RT Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening ceremony.
The 22nd republican tournament, which is included in the official calendar of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, will end on March 10. 278 athletes from Russia, the Republic of Belarus, China and Tajikistan are participating in the competition.
“This sport is very popular in our republic: today about 50 thousand people practice it. The holding of these competitions is a great event for us,” said the head of the republic at the opening ceremony of the tournament.
During his trip to the Slabinsky district, Minnikhanov also visited the central regional library in Bogatye Sabakh, which has undergone major renovations.
