The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia put Ukrainian TV presenter Yanina Sokolova on the wanted list (included in the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring), follows from the base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The basis for the search was an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, it is said in the card of the search base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For which article she is wanted, the card does not specify.

Yanina Sokolova is 39 years old, she was born on March 6, 1984 in the Zaporozhye region, she is Ukrainian by nationality. Sokolova hosts the socio-political program “Rendezvous” on Ukrainian television, as well as YouTube projects “Evening with Yanina Sokolova” and “Shame!”. In the description of the projects, it is stated that their goal is “to fight Russian propaganda.”

In August 2022, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed initiate a criminal case in connection with the statements of the Ukrainian TV presenter “about the need to commit the murder of Russian people on a national basis.” Sokolova voiced this position on the air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels.

Formerly Investigative Committee aroused a criminal case on the dissemination of fakes about the Russian army (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Ukrainian journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya. Information about her was not found in the wanted database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Vedomosti correspondent checked.

Yanina Sokolovskaya is 52 years old. She worked for the Izvestiya newspaper from 2001 to 2014, as well as for the Kommersant newspaper and wrote about the situation in Ukraine until 2019. In addition, she took part in socio-political television programs. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, in the period from March to May 2022, the journalist disseminated “deliberately false information about the actions of the RF Armed Forces against the civilian population of Ukraine” in the Telegram channel.
