Ministry of Health: ten injured in the attack on a school in Izhevsk are still in the hospital

Eight children and two adults hospitalized after the shooting at Izhevsk School No. 88 still remain in hospitals. One girl is in critical condition. This was told by the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.
“Now there are ten people on inpatient treatment, including two adults,” the minister said in a conversation with TASS. A girl in serious condition is being treated at the Burdenko National Research Center for Neurosurgery. According to the minister, other patients are on the mend. 21 students of the Izhevsk school located on treatment in the Izhevsk sanatorium “Swallow”.
The attack on school No. 88 in Izhevsk took place on 26 September. 34-year-old graduate Artem Kazantsev, who fired, committed suicide. He killed 17 people, including 11 children. 25 people were injured and injured. 15 of them were transported by a special board of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to Moscow.
Artem Kazantsev suffered from schizophrenia. In 2008, he attacked a teenager and a woman with a knife. The victims received minor injuries. Due to insanity, the young man was not subject to criminal liability. However, in accordance with the legislation of those years, he was not sent for compulsory treatment. The court considered that the young man had committed crimes of minor gravity.
