Over 70% of Russian citizens who have taken antibiotics in the past six months have committed the wrong actions. Specialists of the Central Research Institute of Organization and Informatization of Healthcare of the Ministry of Health are sure of this, writes Kommersant.
Over the past year, as the researchers found out, antibiotics were taken by 54.6% of respondents, of which almost half – 49.1% – were self-medicating. It turned out that the vast majority of them purchased antibiotics in a pharmacy: they bought freely, without using prescriptions.
In addition, the researchers found that 73.9% of respondents stopped drinking antibiotics before completing the course. They began to feel better and decided that they had already recovered.
