The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) shot down a Ukrainian Su-24 bomber near Odessa while carrying out combat missions in the zone of a special military operation. This was announced by the speaker of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.
“The fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft near the city of Odessa,” a Russian officer said during a briefing.
In addition, according to the defense department, over the past 24 hours, air defense systems managed to shoot down one Su-24, two MiG-29, as well as a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force.
In addition, Konashenkov added that they also managed to intercept four HARM anti-radar missiles, two Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missiles and a HIMARS MLRS projectile.
Since the beginning of the Russian special operation, according to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 504 aircraft and 253 helicopters.
