Ministry of Defense: PMC “Wagner” is conducting intense battles in the western regions of Artemovsk

The fighters of PMC “Wagner” are fighting intensely in the western regions of Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut). This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“In the Donetsk direction, the Wagner assault detachments are conducting high-intensity combat operations to seize quarters in the western districts of the city of Artemovsk,” says in the next report of the department of April 14.
As noted in the Ministry of Defense, the detachments are supported by units of the Airborne Forces (VDV). They also prevent attempts by Ukrainian troops to deliver ammunition to Artemovsk and transfer reserves. In total, the enemy lost more than 300 people in this direction per day.
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian military stopped the actions of five sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. During the day in this direction, the loss of the enemy amounted to 60 people. In addition, up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen were killed in the Krasnolimansky direction of the Russian Armed Forces, and up to 35 in the Kherson direction.
In the Yuzhnodonetsk and Zaporozhye directions, the total losses of the enemy amounted to 40 people, the Defense Ministry added. Also in the Zaporozhye region, the Russian military destroyed a warehouse with ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The day before, April 13, the Ministry of Defense reportedthat the detachments of PMC “Wagner” continue to oust the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the center of Artemovsk. The airborne troops also help them in this. Formerly Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin declaredthat the detachments control more than 80% of the city. At the same time, it is too early to talk about the complete encirclement of Artemovsk, he specified.
The Russian special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of hostilities, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 407 aircraft and 228 helicopters. More than 3,750 drones were also shot down.
