The head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, said that a new textbook on national history for 11th graders is ready. It contains chapters on the special military operation in Ukraine. Vladislav Kononov, head of the Department for Coordinating State Policy Issues in the Historical and Humanitarian Spheres of the Presidential Administration, showed fragments of the textbook and added that it was created as a tool to “protect our traditions.”

Among other things, it talks about the reasons for the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the entry of new regions into Russia, the “unprecedented sanctions” of the West, and the heroism of the Akhmat unit in the battles for Mariupol.

“The special military operation (SVO) aroused the desire of the population of the country to provide assistance and support to its participants. The textbook includes open-ended questions, including about the threats “which were carried by the actions of the Ukrainian authorities”, about the characteristics of relations between Russia and Western countries in the early 2020s.
