Milonov proposed fines and correctional labor in the Northern Military District zone for divorce

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection Vitaly Milonov (United Russia) considers it a problem that many married couples in Russia are breaking up. He proposed a fine of 100 thousand rubles for divorce. or assign correctional labor in the zone of military operation.

Mr. Milonov voiced his idea at a committee meeting, where today, January 17, they discussed the LDPR bill on a one-time payment to young spouses upon registration of marriage. “In the event of a massacre or an unbridled life of one of the spouses, if he has not had his fill and continues to walk right and left, it is he who should bear responsibility for the divorce, and therefore financial expenses,” said the deputy “Parliamentary newspaper”.

Vitaly Milonov added that he is preparing his own draft law aimed at “changing attitudes towards divorce in society.” He assured that he wants to achieve this “not through force or financial penalties.” He did not provide details of the initiative, promising to do so when “the bill takes on clearer outlines and appears in some digestible form.”

President Vladimir Putin declared 2024 the Year of the Family in Russia.
