Milonov has a fixed idea: he called for French shirts to be returned to school

According to the people’s representative, “children want to reflect military elements” in school uniforms

State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov decided to distract children from the “visual competition.” He addressed the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, with a letter in which he asked the official to “consider the possibility of establishing uniform standards for the appearance of students, taking into account the wishes and cultural characteristics of each region of our country. MK found out why the parliamentarian returned to the old idea: in 2019, he already proposed making school uniforms mandatory.

This time, according to Milonov, such a measure could be implemented as a pilot project in a number of regions. For example, in St. Petersburg, where the appearance of students could reflect external elements associated with the history of pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg – caps and jackets for boys, aprons and dresses for girls.”

The deputy drew the minister’s attention to the fact that in recent years, topics related to the implementation of school education reform have been widely discussed in our country. Many parents draw attention to the need to introduce a uniform school uniform, as was the case during the era of the Soviet Union. Parents are confident that the external uniformity of students will have a beneficial effect on the educational process and will distract the children themselves from the desire for “visual competition.”

If the experiment (introducing a uniform school uniform) is successful, then local authorities can organize preferential tailoring of uniforms so that the purchase of a set of clothes does not place a heavy burden on the family budget. This measure will reduce the financial burden on families, bring uniformity in the appearance of students and help in educating the younger generation to respect the history of their native history and traditions,” says the deputy’s letter to the Minister of Education.

The topic of returning schools to uniform student clothing is becoming a cyclical issue among deputies. Four years ago Milonov already proposed introducing “unified national school uniform” .

“I have been regularly dealing with this topic since 2014-2015,” explained Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the Committee on Family, Women and Children, to MK. “I have to argue, convince, prove.” In a number of regions and in my native St. Petersburg, the practice of school uniforms is successfully applied. There were no complaints from either students or parents. Everyone is happy!

Form is not just a whim, it is one of the elements of raising a child. We famously abandoned school uniforms in the 90s, as a symbol of the suppression of society by communist ideology. And as a result, we got some kind of anarchy with the appearance of children and a mess in the head of Pokemon and Popites. I am convinced that the form will be brought back into use. Maybe even the children themselves would like some military elements to be reflected in it.
