Military expert Viktor Baranets commented on the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Moscow does not see any signals either from Kyiv or from the West about readiness to move on to a political process in the Ukrainian conflict. Lavrov also noted that today there are no reasons why the goals of a special military operation should be revised.
“The special operation will end when Zelensky understands that all resistance is useless,” Baranets said in interview News.ru. He also named such conditions as the capitulation of Kyiv, the removal or flight of the President of Ukraine.
As for Western assistance, Baranets drew attention to the fact that providing Kyiv with air defense systems, fighters, tanks and armored personnel carriers will increase the potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and complicate the solution of the tasks of the air defense. Therefore, he noted, the speed of solving these problems depends on supplies from NATO countries.
At the same time, the analyst expressed confidence that the Russian army will conduct a very serious winter campaign and will solve the problem of complete control of the territories of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
