But then the whole world applauded him
The legendary fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev died at the age of 86 in a hospital. Relatives and friends cannot believe what happened. A few days ago, Zaitsev appeared in a cheerful mood at a fashion show, where he was, among other things, Tatyana Mikhalkova, who for many years was Vyacheslav Zaitsev’s favorite model. Tatyana Evgenievna mourns with everyone, she remembers Vyacheslav Mikhailovich only with the kindest words.
“Slava’s whole life was in full view of the whole country, everyone knew the boy from Ivanovo: bright, smiling, kind, talented. He spoke very well, understood the history of costumes, was a teacher with many students, always supported our charitable foundation “Russian Silhouette”, came to all the shows, was an honorary member of the jury, took part in the fate of the young,” recalls Tatyana Evgenievna.
In addition, Mikhalkova said that for some time Zaitsev was not allowed to travel abroad, but successfully coped with this situation.
“I remember how in the All-Union House of Models, where I ended up with his light hand, he singled me out, saw the Botticell image in me. In those years there was an iron curtain, and only a few left the country, but Slava always felt very free in his country, did shows at embassies, gave interviews, and he never had a desire to leave. He created bold collections that the Art Council did not always approve. Of course, he was not allowed to travel abroad at the beginning of the journey, but fate was favorable, and over time he applauded and recognized by the whole world! For me, Slava is a man of service to the country, the world, art. He had a family that was next to him, friends, like-minded people, and he was loved by the whole world. “
