US Corporation Microsoft from August 1 in most countries raise the cost of an Xbox Series X console and, starting July 6 (for new users), Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. The console price changes will not affect the US, Japan, Brazil, Colombia and Chile, and the subscription will not increase in Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Saudi Arabia and Chile.
The price of the Xbox Series X will rise in Europe from €500 to €550, and in the UK from £450 to £480. The Xbox Series X will increase in price to match the PlayStation 5, which went up in price in August 2022. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions will rise in price to $17 and $11, respectively (previously they cost $15 and $10). The Xbox Game Pass subscription is being upgraded for the first time since the service launched in 2017.
The price of PC Game Pass will not change. For existing Game Pass subscribers, the price will increase from August 13 (in Germany – from September 13). The company claims that the price increase is not related to the deal to acquire Activision Blizzard.
Formerly Microsoft introduced a new version of the Xbox Series S console in black with a 1TB SSD, and did available Xbox Game Pass in 40 more countries, including the Baltic states, Eastern Europe (Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Moldova, Ukraine, etc.), as well as the Caucasus (Georgia).
