American corporation Microsoft is testing new features for the Notepad and Snipping apps in Windows 11—the former will have autosave, while the latter will be able to take not only static pictures, but also capture video. A preview build of the operating system with new features is already available to members of the Windows Insider program.
Using the Win+Shift+R keyboard shortcut, the Snipping Tool will automatically switch to screen recording mode. It will be possible to record system sounds, as well as use a microphone. If there are several microphones, then Windows will prompt you to select one of them. You can still take a screenshot with Win+Shift+S.
Notepad will now automatically save text when the application closes. When restarted, all previously closed tabs and sessions will be shown. The function does not work when editing existing files – you will need to save them manually. Users can optionally disable the autosave feature.
Formerly Microsoft start test the new Windows 11 settings home page, which will adapt to the user. Also in the company reportedthat some features will be removed from the Edge browser.
