When inappropriate behavior is detected, Xbox users will receive warnings and accumulate demerit points: one demerit point for using obscene language, three points for inciting hatred. Two violations can result in a one-day ban, four violations a week, seven violations a two-month ban, and eight violations can result in a one-year ban.
Users of blocked accounts will not be able to send messages to others, play multiplayer games, or use other social features. Penalty points are summed up within six months, after which they burn out. Each user will be able to see their number of accumulated penalty points in their account settings.
According to Xbox spokesperson Dave McCarthy, only 1% of Xbox players repeatedly violate community standards. Earlier Xbox started test A new feature that will allow Xbox console users to record voice chats and report toxic behavior if necessary. The company believes that this will help improve the comfort of gamers in multiplayer games where the competitive element is high.
