Microsoft has released a major OneDrive update with new design and AI features

American corporation Microsoft released update of the OneDrive cloud storage, in which it applied a new design to the application in the style of Windows 11. The company also promised to soon add support for the Copilot AI assistant for Microsoft 365 users.
The web version of OneDrive now has a Fluent design and is more similar to the style of the Office suite and Explorer in Windows 11.
- In the “For You” section, files recommended by the application have appeared, and documents important for work are now always displayed in quick access.
- In the “People” block there is access to files shared with other users – now the necessary document can be found by the person’s name. When you select a folder color, it will become the same for other users.
- A “Favorites” section has appeared, new AI algorithms have simplified the search for relatives and friends in photographs.
- In offline mode, OneDrive will launch in the browser even without an Internet connection, and some files will be marked as accessible without the Internet.
Previously Microsoft introduced limitation on OneDrive Unlimited Enterprise plan – users will now be able to store no more than 1 TB of data per user. Companies can increase this volume to 5 TB depending on the number of users.
