The Kontinental Hockey League has announced the names of four coaches who will lead teams at the upcoming 2022 All-Star Game in Chelyabinsk. This was reported by the press service of the KHL.
The Kharlamov division, in which both Metallurg and Traktor play, will be headed by Ilya Vorobyov. At the same time, participation in the stellar weekend will be the fourth in his career for him.
Ilya Petrovich noted that the upcoming event is a great celebration of sports. Last year it was interrupted by the coronavirus infection. Therefore, the coach is sure that this time Chelyabinsk is waiting for a truly interesting event.
“I repeat that the All-Star Game is a celebration of hockey, an excellent advertisement for our sport! I didn’t have time to get acquainted with the lineups in detail, but I know a little who is in our team (laughs). Is it a competition or a holiday? It’s more of a holiday, yes, but there is always a sports component, it’s always interesting to win!”, – said Ilya Vorobyov.
In addition to Ilya Petrovich, Viktor Kozlov (Salavat Yulaev), Sergei Fedorov (CSKA) and Roman Rotenberg (SKA) will participate as coaches.
Earlier, MK-Chelyabinsk reported which of South Ural hockey players will go to the All-Star Game.
