In the final game before the break in the regular season, Metallurg met Torpedo on home ice.
The match was the debut for Metallurg newcomer Daniil Vovchenko, who recently moved from Severstal.
Magnitogorsk started the match very actively, opening the scoring in the first minute of the match. The goal was scored by Alexander Petunin. Literally two minutes later, the hosts doubled the score: Daniil Vovchenko took part in the scoring chance, and Nikita Grebenkin scored the goal for his own set.
However, during the remaining playing time, the stands did not see any more goals from Metallurg. From that moment on, only Torpedo players scored. First, the guests won back one goal. Then Stepan Firstov equalized the score. Both goals came in the second period.
The decisive moment was in the third period, when Magnitogorsk played in the majority, but managed to miss a counterattack, which was completed by Vasily Atanasov.
Result – defeat 3:2. It was the fourth in a row for Magnitogorsk. The team will play the next match after the break on December 22 against Amur. Let us remind you that the championship is interrupted for the KHL All-Star Game and the Channel One Cup.
