Metallurg beat Neftekhimik for the second time in a row

Metallurg completed the first couple of home matches. The current meeting with the Nizhnekamsk team was slightly different in the nature of the game, but ended in a victory for the Magnitogorsk team – 3:1.

After the first match, there were significant changes in the lineup. First of all, the goalkeeping team was changed: Alexander Sudnitsin took the place of the main goalkeeper. Also included in the application were Vladislav Eremenko, Valery Orekhov, Mikhail Grass, Danila Kvartalnov. Danil Gololobov, Makar Khabarov, Egor Yakovlev, Semyon Koshelev did not play.

The scoring was opened in the middle of the first period. The goal against Metallurg turned out to be curious and did not follow at all from the course of the game. The visiting player threw the puck out of his zone, which bounced across the ice and passed under Sudnitsyn. However, 48 seconds before the end of the segment, the Magnitogorsk team restored the scoring balance. The goal was scored by Mikhail Grass. Let us note that Nikita Grebenkin became his assistant. The Grass-Grebenkin combination worked well at the MHL level, when both hockey players played for the Steel Foxes, and now it has produced results at the adult level.

In the second period, the numbers on the scoreboard changed only once. In the 31st minute, during a power play, the hosts took the lead. Danila Yurov turned the numerical advantage into a goal.

In the 46th minute, Metallurg extended the lead to 3:1. Jean-Sebastien Di scores against Neftekhimik for the second game in a row.

Result – victory 3:1. Let’s note the play of Alexander Sudnitsin, who, after missing a stray puck, did not allow himself to be outplayed again. As both the players themselves and coach Andrei Razin noted, this moment could not destabilize the goalkeeper and the team, but, on the contrary, invigorated them.

The Magnitogorsk team will play their next match on October 6 against a team from Ufa.
