Metallurg beat Dynamo Minsk big in a KHL match

The Magnitogorsk club continued its home series with a game against Dynamo from Belarus, ending it in its favor 5:1.

Having interrupted a series of five defeats in the previous match with Barys, Metallurg did not change the winning lineup. The same players took to the ice as a few days ago. Let us note that with the beginning of November, the team’s gaming calendar became less busy than in the first months. After the game with the previous opponent (Magnitka held a meeting with the Kazakh team on October 31), Metallurg, perhaps for the first time since the beginning of the season, had several days of rest.

Both teams spent the first period quite cheerfully, but the score on the scoreboard changed only once. In the fifth minute, Robin Press hit the Minsk goalkeeper with his shot. The guests responded to the goal of the Metallurg defender in the opening of the second twenty minutes. The young hockey player of Dynamo Minsk Nikita Smirnov distinguished himself. It must be said that Dynamo made a significant improvement at the start of this segment, creating a lot of problems for the Magnitogorsk team in their zone.

However, the equality in the score was short-lived. In the 28th minute, Pavel Akolzin brought the team ahead. Perhaps the turning point of the meeting was the removal of Mikhail Grass. Magnitogorsk not only successfully defended in the minority, but also increased the gap in less than two minutes. It became 3:1 after Egor Korobkin’s throw.

But the owners didn’t stop there. First, in the power play, Alexander Petunin made the score 4:1, and two minutes later Pavel Akolzin scored a double and set the final score 5:1.
