MEP: Sanctions hurt Europe more than Russia

The strengthening of the sanctions regime against Russia has hit the EU population to a greater extent, Mick Wallace, a member of the European Parliament, wrote on social networks. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Wallace urged the European Union to “wake up” and recognize that the sanctions are much more felt for the population of Europe.

“When will the EU wake up and admit that sanctions against Russia do more harm to the peoples of Europe than to Russia,” asked the MEP. He also noted that, in general, the EU sanctions policy towards Russia can be called a failure.

After increased sanctions pressure on Russia, the EU countries and the United States faced rising energy prices and a surge in inflation, which has become a record in recent decades.
