Sakhalin will host the opening of the summer ski jumping season. The competition will last on June 23 and 24 at the ski jump complex “Vysota” in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Members of the Russian national team will take part in them, the press service of the regional ministry of sports reported.
On the first day of the competition, young flying skiers will perform. They will have to show their strength in jumping on the K-10 and K-20 ski jumps. Start at 10:00.
The most spectacular will be the second day. Here, in addition to island athletes, flying skiers from the Russian national team will take part in the competition.
They are currently undergoing training camps on Sakhalin soil. These are Honored Master of Sports of Russia, silver medalist of the 2022 Winter Olympics Irma Makhinya, international masters of sports Sofya Tikhonova and Anna Shpyneva, masters of sports Anastasia Subbotina, Alexander Kustova, Kristina Prokopyeva, Valeria Kolesnikova and candidate master of sports Adelina Ibragimova. Sakhalin residents, as well as the strongest representatives of this sport in Russia, will demonstrate their technique and flying skills on the K-72 springboard. The opening ceremony will take place at 16:45. Start at 17:00.
“We invite everyone to watch spectacular flights and support their favorite athletes. Admission is free,” the regional ministry of sports noted.
