The heir to the throne of Jordan married a girl from a prominent family from Saudi Arabia. A lavish ceremony was held attended by members of the royal family and heads of state.

Nearly 140 guests, from the British Prince and Princess of Wales to US First Lady Jill Biden, arrived at Zahran Palace in the Jordanian capital Amman to watch Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, 28, and his fiancée Rajwa Alseif tie the knot.

Alseif, a 29-year-old Saudi architect and Syracuse University graduate in New York, will be known as Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess of Jordan, and when the Crown Prince takes the throne, her title will change to Queen Rajwa.

The bride is related to the Crown Prince and de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) through her mother, who comes from the prominent Al Sudairi family.

According to Saudi media reports, King Salman of Saudi Arabia is one of the so-called “Sudairi Seven”, seven full brothers born to King Abdulaziz and Hussa bint Ahmed Al-Sudair.
