IN conversation with the publication “gazeta.ru”, the head of the department for accessories, portable equipment and customized equipment at MegaFon, Dmitry Strinadyuk, noted that the recharge cycle, voltage level and temperature conditions can affect the service life of the device.

Smartphone batteries have a limited number of full charge cycles, and then the battery life decreases. The expert believes that the device should be recharged when the charge volume drops to at least 20%, and after being fully charged, disconnect it from the network.

“The maximum number of cycles may vary depending on the smartphone model. For example, the iPhone battery retains up to 80% of its original capacity after 500 full charging cycles,” Strinadyuk clarified, noting that modern devices can monitor the charging process and stop supplying current when the gadget reaches 100%.

In addition, the expert did not recommend using the smartphone while charging. This increases the load and forces the battery to work continuously, leading to increased wear and tear. “Some modern models are equipped with bypass charging technology, just for cases when you need to use a smartphone, but don’t want to damage the battery, for example when playing games,” he explained.

Also, high temperatures negatively affect the batteries in your phone. A temperature of 18-22 degrees is optimal for charging the device. Leaving your gadget in the sun or near the battery is a bad idea.
