Medvedev urged to increase the production of ammunition

The consumption of ammunition has increased many times under the conditions of the special operation, so the industry must increase production volumes, declared Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting during a visit to the Kazan Gunpowder Plant.
“Under the conditions of a special military operation, the consumption of ammunition has increased many times over, the task of industry is to fully and without failures meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces,” Medvedev said.
According to him, it is necessary not only to increase the output of these products, but also to improve the effectiveness of ammunition through the use of more modern technologies and new developments.
At the end of December 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the introduction of a new position – his first deputy in the Military Industrial Commission (MIC) of Russia. It was taken by Medvedev.
The first deputy chairman of the commission may create councils and working groups in the areas of the commission’s activities to “consider issues within its competence and prepare proposals for their solution.”
The commission also included the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov, and the former head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Igor Artemyev, was excluded from it. The board under the military-industrial complex included Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, Maxim Kolesnikov, deputy head of the Ministry of Economics, Kirill Lysogorsky, deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Alexander Trembitsky, head of Rostekhnadzor, and others.
