Medvedev: Russians who want to defeat Russia should not be allowed back into the country

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that Russians who left the country and want it to lose in the conflict with Ukraine should be considered “enemies of society.” In his opinion, they should be banned from entering Russia forever, and also deprived of the opportunity to earn money. They can return only after “public repentance”.

Again, endless curses against the authorities and wishes for a speedy defeat in the war for their Fatherland, and often unpretentious dreams of the destruction of today’s Russia, ”Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.

Mr. Medvedev believes that “traitors who hate their country so much that they call for its defeat and destruction” should be considered “hostis publicus, enemies of society” and “enemies of the state, enemy of the state.” In his opinion, these terms should be assigned to them, “even if no one initiated any administrative or criminal cases against these persons.”

Dmitry Medvedev writes that such Russians “should not be allowed back to Russia until the end of their days”, they should also be banned from earning in the country. “The return of such persons home can take place only in the event of prior unequivocal public repentance, and in appropriate cases, only through amnesty or pardon,” he said.
