Medvedev responded to the Spartak player’s attempt to violate his pre-match ritual

Chairman of the Board of Zenit Alexander Medvedev commented on the incident before the blue-white-blue match with Moscow Spartak. The match took place the day before as part of the semi-finals of the RPL Fonbet Russian Cup.
Medvedev sends balls to the center circle before each match. Before the game on April 3, someone wearing clothes with the Spartak emblem tried to disrupt the ritual by knocking the ball out from under Medvedev’s feet.
The chairman of the blue-white-blue board ironically reacted to what happened and completed his pre-match tradition.
“I attacked the wrong one. And the dimensions are not the same,” – Medvedev told reporters from Sport Day by Day.
Confrontation between Zenit and Spartak ended victory of the St. Petersburg team. Brazilian Pedro scored a double and left the Muscovites as losers.
