Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday, February 21, commented on the fate of defector pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who hijacked a Russian Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine.
The Russian politician quoted a phrase attributed to Emperor Nicholas I: “A dog’s death is a dog’s death.”
In response to a clarifying question whether it was important at whose hands he died, Medvedev said with a meaningful smile: “I said everything.”
Earlier, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, confirmed Spanish media reports that Kuzminov was shot in Spain and then driven over in a car.
However, other journalists noted a number of inconsistencies – for example, the discrepancy between the ages of the murdered man and Kuzminov. Spanish Ministry of the Interior did not confirm the information about the death of the defector pilot.
